About this experience
Our city is 29 years older than Rome... you've probably heard this somewhere, right? Join me on a walk to discover the charm of Yerevan, looking at its modern, multifaceted, and inspiring appearance. There will also be some historical insights, but in moderation. Let's talk about trendy wine establishments, extravagant monuments, textured slums, and much more!
What to Expect
Secrets of the Cascade and the Best Wine Restaurants
The walk will start at an important symbol of Yerevan - the Cascade. You will learn why it is called an open-air museum, what contemporary art pieces are collected here, their special value, and why the construction of the complex took more than half a century. And on the youthful M. Saryan street with a string of museums and cafes, I will tell you about the best wine establishments in the region, opened by Armenians from France and Italy. It is here that you can try wines that cannot be found in stores in the CIS countries.
Beauty and Charm of Yerevan Squares
At Place de France, you will discover the connection between two countries, learn how during the Soviet years Yerevan acquired an architectural treasure - the Opera building, admire Swan Lake, and hear the story of the Armenian carpet monument and Arno Babajanyan, a renowned folk composer. And through the oldest and at the same time most modern street in Yerevan, you will reach Republic Square, where a graceful musical-colorful water show will begin.
Kond: Another Dimension of Yerevan
In the middle of the walk, there will be an ancient quarter on a hill, where you will discover the true urban slums nestled in the heart of the capital. Despite being just steps away from the center, life here flows differently, and it's hard to believe that business centers and restaurants are nearby. I will bring you here to show the soul of Yerevan, its semi-ruined dwellings, and undeniable colorfulness.
