About this experience
Traveling through the Alazani Valley, you will discover the beauty of the mountainous region, stroll through the streets of the city of love, and explore its architecture. In the Bodbe Monastery, you can pray to Saint Nino and visit her spring. And of course, you will get to know Kakheti through its flavors: taste the best wines, shoti bread, and hot churchkhela.
What to Expect
Welcomed with Wine and Bread
Our first stop will be at the KTW Winery. A Russian-speaking guide will lead the tour of the winery. You will taste several types of white and red wines and brandy (cognac), and have the opportunity to purchase your favorite drink. You will try authentic shoti bread and see how it is baked.
Next, we will visit a local winemaker: you will join them in harvesting grapes and making wine, learning about the wine production process. You will also taste different flavors while hearing fascinating stories about this drink.
The Art of Winemaking
Our next stop is the Vineria Kakheti winery — you will feel like you are visiting old friends. It is a real home that belonged to a Georgian family: you will immerse yourself in the homely atmosphere and learn about the nuances of winemaking in qvevris, special clay vessels. You can ask questions about winemaking, taste several wine varieties, and see with your own eyes how grapes were pressed in wooden satsnakheli in ancient times.
From Signagi with Love
One of the stops on the route is the town of Signagi: it is characterized by small colorful streets and a magnificent panorama, creating stunning photo opportunities. I will explain why it is called the city of love. Afterwards, we will try to find the square where the artist Niko Pirosmani laid out flowers for his beloved. This is what the song 'Million Scarlet Roses' by Alla Pugacheva is about. You will learn about the locals' way of life, their traditions, and get acquainted with the culture of Georgia.
A Tasty Story
In addition to beautiful views, the trip will be remembered for gastronomic discoveries. You will see how churchkhela is made and taste it in an unusual hot form, as well as observe how wine is stored in qvevris. For lunch, I suggest visiting a scenic restaurant near an ancient fortress. From its terrace, you will enjoy a breathtaking view of the Alazani Valley, framed on the north by a strip of snow-capped peaks.
To the Holy Spring
We will visit the largest monastery in Kakheti — the Nino Monastery. I will tell you about the miracle that led to the righteous woman being buried here. You will be able to pay homage to this saint and drink the miraculous water from her spring. You can easily reach it by car or, for a more interesting experience, climb the 2,000 steps staircase. This ascent will not cause discomfort either on that day or in the following days — an inexplicable but confirmed fact!

We also stopped in Signahi (a very cute town). The excursion was easy for us (despite the long road), exciting, and informative at the same ti...

The tour was awful. It was not a tour guide at all, but a driver. He just drove silently and then said: you need to go there, but what's there, is unclear. We have never seen anything worse, a complete scam. We do not recommend to anyone, a whole day wasted for nothing.
