About this experience
The best way to start exploring Istanbul is to visit its magnificent historical center. We are happy to help you with that! You will visit the legendary Sultanahmet Square, see the Blue Mosque, and admire the Hagia Sophia. You will also descend into the ancient underground Basilica Cistern. We will share the rich history of these places with you.
What to Expect
Sultanahmet Square. We will explore the main square of the Old City in detail, where the Hippodrome was located in the past. You will see all its iconic structures: the Egyptian Obelisk, the Serpent Column, the German Fountain, and the Tower of Constantine.
Blue Mosque. You will visit this unusual six-minaret mosque and be impressed by its magnificent interiors: frescoes and ancient ceramic tiles.
Hagia Sophia. The place where the coronation of the Byzantine emperors once took place. You will touch the amazing history of this mosque, which was a Christian church until recently. Exterior viewing only.
Basilica Cistern. An underground reservoir gifted to the city by Emperor Justinian I. We will show you the ancient columns supporting it and tell you about the Medusa Gorgon, which became its symbol.
