What to expect
Iconic places of the Old Town
We will start our walk in the heart of Vilnius - at Cathedral Square. I will show you the residence of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania - the Palace of the Rulers - and the monument to the city's founder, Grand Duke Gediminas. Strolling through narrow medieval streets, you will also see the Town Hall, old buildings of the university and the Presidential Palace, St. John's Church, and the Church of St. Paraskeva. We will bid farewell near the Gates of Dawn not far from the defensive wall of Old Vilnius.
Vilnius through the centuries
Vilnius is an ancient multinational city with a rich history. You will hear about events from its distant and recent past: when, by whom, and under what circumstances it was founded, what fairs and festivals are held there, which architectural styles the city's iconic monuments belong to, and where locals like to go for the weekend.
