About this experience
You will stroll through the streets and courtyards of the historic center, travel back to the 16th century, and visit the independent 'republic' in the heart of Vilnius. I will share the legends of the Lithuanian capital, show you the amber gallery, houses of wealthy merchants, and help you feel the soul of the city.
What to expect
The highlights of the Old Town
You will visit Cathedral Square and make a wish on the 'Tile of Happiness.' I will reveal how Grand Duke Gediminas managed to expand the state's territory without a sword, what preceded royal visits to the Lower Castle, and how the tradition of the 'Kaziuko Fair' emerged. You will walk along the main street of the Old Town, through which rulers, cardinals, and envoys entered. On Literatu Street, you will hear about the European honeymoon of the Dostoevsky couple. And near the Church of Saint Paraskevi, you will remember Hannibal and his brilliant great-grandson.
A stroll through the artists' district
In the art quarter of Uzupis, we will pass over the bridge adorned with locks of newlyweds who vowed eternal love to each other. You will immerse yourself in the free atmosphere of a creative incubator and decorate your passport with the symbolic stamp-visa of the independent republic. You will learn from the trumpeting angel about good deeds and study the Constitution of Uzupis. Finally, you will discover a wonderful Gothic corner and admire the beauty of the Church of St. Anne.
