Institute of the Sun, Mosque in the village of Kumyshkan, and Mountain Forest
About this experience
I offer you a trip to 3 attractions of the Parkent district of the Tashkent region - the Institute of the Sun (Heliostation), the picturesque Hazrat Ali Bova Mosque located in the mountain village of Kumyshkan, and the coniferous forest near the village of Sukok. You will enjoy mountain landscapes, immerse yourself in the history of Uzbekistan, and understand how huge solar furnaces work.
What to expect
Institute of the Sun
First, we will visit the Heliostation. This is a unique scientific complex for studying materials at very high temperatures. Its main part is a 1-megawatt solar furnace consisting of 62 heliostats. You will learn about the history and work of the institute, and then enjoy the surrounding mountain landscapes from the observation platform.
Hazrat Ali Bova Mosque
One of the most picturesque places in the Tashkent region is the village of Kumyshkan. It is famous for the Hazrat Ali Bova Mosque, named after a descendant of the prophet. We will visit the mosque itself and take photos by the ancient plane tree growing on its territory. You can also try water from a holy spring.
Sukok
This is a part of the coniferous forest in the mountains of Uzbekistan. We will walk along convenient paths, visit the apricot grove, sit on benches, descend to the grotto and the spring - Chashme. The reserve area is well-equipped, so the walk will not be burdensome for anyone, and the strongest can climb higher along the mountain ridge. Optionally, after the walk, we will try local shish kebab, which is specially brought from Tashkent.
