About this experience
I invite you to a rich sightseeing tour of Tashkent! We will walk through the winding streets of the Old City, exploring ancient mosques and madrasas. Then we will head to the modern center and immerse ourselves in the bustling capital life. I will help you feel the charm of the Eastern world, share ancient legends, and recite the poems of our beautiful poets.
What to Expect
Enchanting Old City
We will stroll through the narrow streets of 'mahallas', see the ancient Tilav Sheikh Mosque, Barak-Khan Madrasa, and the mausoleum of an imam in a 16th-century building. I will decode the features of Eastern architecture and tell you about the education system in local spiritual schools. Additionally, you will visit Chorsu Bazaar - one of the most vibrant and colorful markets in Central Asia, founded over ten centuries ago.
Modern Tashkent
You will see the Monument of Courage, built on the site of the 1966 earthquake epicenter. Visit the central Independence Square and admire the building of the opera theater, constructed by Shchusev's design with the help of Japanese prisoners of war. I will also show you two splendid modern mosques: Minor and Hazrat Imam. I will tell you about the current life of Tashkent and its plans for the future.
