About this experience
After the devastating earthquake in 1966, Tashkent was rebuilt from scratch. The task was to change the city beyond recognition, so that everyone would envy! The builders succeeded: the pools between the high-rise buildings were worth it! You will learn many interesting facts on the excursion. And you will also visit the bazaar, the television tower, the largest Plov Center, and the unique Sun Institute.
What to expect
- Hotel 'Uzbekistan' - the twin brother of the 'Kosmos' Hotel in Moscow. You will learn why in 1974 it was the construction of the century.
- Chorsu Bazaar - if the heart of Rome beats in the Colosseum, then the heart of Uzbekistan is at the bazaar! The building itself is an architectural monument of Tashkent, and inside you will find everything you desire: from Uzbek dried fruits to national clothing and souvenirs.
- If you are not interested in the bazaar, instead of Chorsu, we can visit the Palace of Friendship of Peoples - the main concert hall of Uzbekistan.
- Tashkent TV Tower - the tallest structure with an open viewing platform in Central Asia. You will enjoy the view of Tashkent from an incredible height of 375 m.
- Plov Center - the largest in Uzbekistan! Here the main dish of the country is cooked in huge cauldrons. You will be able to try three types of Plov, and also see how traditional flatbreads are baked.
- Sun Institute, built in the USSR to study the luminary in all aspects. There are only two such heliocomplexes in the world - in Tashkent and in France. You will see a huge solar furnace where the temperature reaches 5000 degrees. And you will try to ignite a stick from the sun yourself!
