What to Expect
Solar laboratory in the mountains
You will visit the Institute of the Sun, built in the mountains of Uzbekistan in 1987. First, you will appreciate the giant solar furnace, heated by the sun to a temperature of 3000 degrees. There are only two such furnaces in the world - you will find out where the other one is built on the tour! You will also see the concentrator, the innovative testing ground, and the heliostat field where the institute's foundation stone was laid. Climb to the observation platform and enjoy the magnificent view of the Chatkal Range.
