About this experience
I invite you to a cozy tour that will allow you to feel like a local. We will buy freshly baked morning bread, select ingredients at the market, and head to my home outside the city. In the surrounding areas, we will gather herbs and mineral water. We will prepare a couple of traditional dishes: pkhali and satsivi or shkmeruli. And we will have lunch in a warm homely atmosphere with a glass of wine.
What to Expect
Our tour will start when the city is not fully awake yet. We will visit a bakery where hot bread is already ready early in the morning. You will learn how to knead the dough and stick the dough to the clay walls of the thorne oven. And the aroma of lavash!
Then we will go to the Kutaisi market, where we will buy all the necessary ingredients for our future dishes, and head out of town. We will visit a mineral spring, pick forest and field herbs. And we will start a gastronomic masterclass, which will take place at my home.
I will talk about dishes of Georgian cuisine that are usually prepared in rural areas from the gifts of the forest. And we will start cooking. We will make pkhali (a dish of herbs, vegetables, nuts) and satsivi with chicken or shkmeruli (chicken in a milk-garlic sauce). And we will taste our dinner with a glass of red wine.
