About this experience
Georgian cuisine is one of the first associations with our hospitable country. I invite you to visit, where you will not only learn everything about the gastronomy of Sakartvelo, but also cook delicious dishes yourself - khinkali, khachapuri, a chicken dish, and a vegetable or mushroom dish.
What to Expect
Gastronomic features of Sakartvelo
Gastronomic adventure will begin at my private home - following all the rules of Georgian hospitality! You will relax a bit, tasting bread, homemade cheese, and wine, while I will tell you about the features of the national cuisine. You will learn why Georgians love various spices, which cheeses have become a national cultural heritage of the country, and how to choose the right products for the perfect Georgian dish. I will also share my discoveries about the difference between recipes from 100 years ago and modern cooking methods.
Cooking 4 dishes
You will be presented with numerous Georgian spices - you will inhale their aromas, touch and taste them. I will teach you how to use each spice correctly and show how they look in plant form. And then you will cook four Georgian dishes:
- Khinkali: you will learn how to knead khinkali dough and properly fold the "tail" while hearing interesting stories about this treat.
- Khachapuri: you will prepare khachapuri in the Imeretian style. I will definitely tell you what distinguishes this variety of dish from others and advise on which cheese would be a good substitute for Georgian cheese.
- Chicken dish: according to your preference, you will cook chakhokhbili, shkmeruli, or satsivi. And if you happen to be in the blackberry season, you can make an unusual chicken in blackberry sauce.
- Vegetable or mushroom dish: there are several options again - eggplants with walnuts, baked mushrooms with suluguni cheese, seasonal pkhali or adjapsandali.
