About this experience
On this individual tour, Jerusalem will unfold before you as the cradle of three world religions: Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. You will learn their history, touch the oldest relics, understand the importance of these places not only for believers but for the whole world, and take a piece of the Jerusalem light with you in your heart.
Program
We will walk with you, reading the Bible, through the places described in the Gospel. Immerse yourself in the atmosphere of ancient Jerusalem, filled with the sounds of church bells and prayers in all languages of the world.
I will tell you about the founding of the city and how the history of Jerusalem is inseparable from religion. The significance of Jerusalem becoming the spiritual capital of the world, the principles and peculiarities of Judaism. About the life, crucifixion at Golgotha, and resurrection of Jesus. About the influence of Byzantium on the formation of Christianity in Israel, the first temples on the Holy Land, the Arab invasion in the 7th century, and the era of Muslim rule.
Route
- We will start at the Tower of David, where in the first century stood the magnificent palace of Herod the Great - the Judean king, and even now, two thousand years later, you can see the ancient masonry.
- You will also visit one of the main Christian shrines - the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.
- You will see Golgotha - the place of universal sorrow and repentance - the site of Christ's crucifixion, and the Stone of Unction, where Jesus was prepared for burial and buried in the tomb.
- You will enter the Tomb of Christ and touch the Holy Site.
- You will walk around all the annexes of the Church and hear the history of this place, from the 4th century to the present day.
- We will walk part of the Via Dolorosa, where I will explain the significance of the Via Dolorosa street in Jerusalem in detail.
- We will stroll through the colorful Muslim and Christian quarters of the Old City.
- And of course, we will touch the ancient stones of the Western Wall.
