About this experience
This trip is dedicated to avid travelers and adventure enthusiasts! It takes place in the breathtaking gorge where icy waterfalls roar and clouds touch the mountain peaks. Our journey will lead us through the Sabaduri Forest, beautiful in any season, and the ancient fortress city. We will conquer it all, enjoying the sights and capturing the best moments through our lenses.
What to Expect
- Sabaduri Forest, which is among the top 20 most beautiful forests in the world. Did you know that a tiny but endangered beetle was found in Sabaduri, leading to the forest being protected? We will not only tell you about this but also take a leisurely stroll to breathe the fresh air and capture great photos.
- Qveteri Church in the 10th-century fortress city, situated on the banks of the Iltis River. Once a center of the Kakheti Kingdom that remained unconquered, you will enjoy an engaging excursion into the history of this place.
- Mount Tbatana and Sakistino Lake are accessible in clear weather. A good level of physical fitness is required for the climb to 2300m. If the weather (or fitness level) doesn't cooperate, worry not: we have a couple of wonderful alternative stops up our sleeves.
- Pankisi Gorge and Hadori Waterfall - a beauty beyond words! It must be seen. And felt: dip your feet or even plunge into the river if you're not afraid of cold water. On one side of the gorge, you'll see towering mountains, clouds, and blooming slopes. On the other side, there are cliffs, rapids in the river, and waterfalls, waterfalls, waterfalls...
After all the adventures, we will stop in the forest at a special picnic spot and have a Caucasian-style feast.
Organizational Details
- The price includes: a trip in a comfortable Mitsubishi Delica, the services of a driver and a guide-conductor
- The tour will be led by either myself or one of the guides from our team
- We pick you up from your accommodation and follow the route. Sometimes the road might be closed from the forest side, and we take a scenic detour.
- The picnic is pre-arranged. If you want to barbecue, we'll bring skewers and necessary supplies.
- It's advisable to have your passports with you, as we'll be near the Dagestan border, and authorities may want to check documents

- Personal expenses: water, coffee, snacks along the way
- Meat and drinks for the picnic - 10-30 euros (to be arranged in advance)
