About this experience
I invite you to a journey through authentic Portugal, where there are no tourist crowds and mandatory sightseeing spots to check off. You will visit not only the iconic places of Setubal, but also secret corners known only to locals. Instead of memorized texts from guidebooks, you will hear sincere stories about Portuguese traditions and habits.
What to Expect
Colorful Setubal
You will visit the central square of Setubal, see the monument to the famous poet Bocage, and stroll through the narrow streets, where you will feel the true spirit of the city. You will walk along the central avenue, Luiza Todi, visit the local market, and admire the 19th-century azulejos depicting scenes of everyday life of Portuguese people at that time - fishing and farming. Next, you will enter a real gastronomic paradise - a restaurant where you can eat as much fish as you want for a fixed price. I will tell you about rodizio and why Setubal is famous for the best octopuses in Portugal.
Portugal at your fingertips
From the fort of Saint Philip on top of the hill, you will enjoy magnificent views of the Troia peninsula and the ocean. You will learn how and under what circumstances the borders of the fort expanded and why it was initially built in the shape of a star with six bastions. Finally, you will visit the Arrabida Natural Park and be amazed by its incredible landscapes!
