About this experience
Who hasn't heard of the famous wines of Kakheti?! Words fail, they are good, but Kakheti is not just vineyards. I suggest you take a one-day trip to the Kakhetian Kingdom, enjoy magnificent views, ancient architecture, and of course, taste wines.
Program
- We depart from Tbilisi early in the morning, not on the highway, but through the picturesque Gombori Pass. Along the way, we will stop to admire the views. We will definitely visit the village of Ujarma, where a fortress from the 3rd century has been preserved.
- Our next stop is the Cathedral Church of Alaverdi from the 11th century, the main temple of medieval Kakheti, and the residence of the Kakhetian kings – the Gremi fortress from the 16th century.
- We will have lunch at a very charming restaurant on Lake Ilia, and I suggest conducting a wine tasting right at the Kindzmarauli wine factory, located on the territory of the old fortress. And not just a tasting, the factory also offers very interesting tours.
