Eat! Pray! Give your heart to Kazbek! (from Tbilisi in a group)
About this experience
Let your hearts go on the ancient Military-Georgian road that passes near Mount Kazbek! During the trip, you will see everything - from the transparent waters of the Zhinvali reservoir to the heights of the Gergeti church. You will appreciate the works of local masters at the fair, optionally ride horses or snowmobiles, admire the panorama of the Caucasus mountain range, and try real mountain honey.
What to expect
Sweets and wine for breakfast
Start every self-respecting traveler's morning? With a snack! We will feed you with sticky churckhela and let you taste Georgian wine.
Zhinvali reservoir - landscapes and fair
The reservoir was created in 1984, but people lived in the Aragvi Gorge valley as early as the 4th century BC. The water surface cuts through the mountain landscape - you will enjoy this beauty from the viewpoint platform.
You can also visit the fair near the reservoir if you wish. Local residents sell here homemade Georgian sweets and handmade souvenirs.
Ananuri Fortress - atmospheric shots and horseback riding (optional)
It was built in the 16th-17th centuries to protect the surrounding lands on the shore of the Zhinvali reservoir. Optionally, you will take a horseback ride, enjoying mountain views, or explore the surroundings in search of the most picturesque locations and listen to the guide's stories about the place.
Passanauri Village - amazing rivers and hearty lunch (optional)
Near this village, you will find the White and Black Aragvi rivers - you will see that their waters merge into one flow, but do not mix. Then we will reach the mountain pass and a restaurant where you can taste homemade Georgian dishes if you wish. And for dessert, we will offer you to taste mountain honey.
Arch of Friendship of Peoples - incredible views and activities (optional)
How can you come to Georgia and not see the panorama of the Caucasus mountain range? The viewpoint from the Arch offers a view of the entire gorge - as if you are hovering above the ground.
In winter, you can ride snowmobiles in the mountains, and in summer - quad bikes. Even for more laid-back travelers, there will be no boredom - we will constantly accompany you, help take photos, and tell you about the Arch of Friendship.
Gergeti Trinity Church - clouds and Pushkin
This 14th-century church is the main character of Pushkin's poem "Monastery on Kazbek". We will ascend to it by jeeps at 2170 meters above sea level. So high that it seems like you can touch the clouds!
If the weather permits, we will stop at Stepantsminda - a small village where travelers from all over the world come for healing mineral waters.
