What to Expect

Ancient Historical Route - Military-Georgian Road
Our journey will take us along the Military-Georgian Road towards the border with Russia. This oldest and most important transportation artery has been connecting Russia and the South Caucasus countries for several centuries. Along the way, we will visit the architectural complex of Ananuri - the former residence of the Aragvi Princes. You will admire the churches and medieval towers of Ananuri, magnificently towering over the Zhinvali reservoir. And on the way, we will stop in a small town where you can taste authentic Pasanauri khinkali.

Beautiful Confluence of Two Rivers
We will stop at the confluence of two mountain rivers near the village of Pasanauri. The uniqueness of this place lies in the fact that each river has its own color, and when they merge, the waters of the two rivers flow parallel to each other for a long time without mixing. This is a very beautiful and unusual sight that is definitely worth seeing.

Panoramic Viewpoints and Picturesque Scenery
Our journey will continue through the Cross Pass with a stop at the panoramic viewpoint from the Soviet era called “Friendship of Peoples”, offering a picturesque view of the deep gorge of the Caucasus Mountains. We will ascend dizzying narrow mountain roads to the Cross Pass. Throughout the journey, we will drive along the Aragvi River past breathtaking mountain landscapes, and also admire the views of the Georgian ski resort of Gudauri.

Ancient Church in Gergeti
You will witness the extraordinary beauty of the legendary “sky-high” ancient Church of the Holy Trinity in Gergeti. You will not only admire it from below, but if you wish, you can take a pilgrimage walk or go up by jeep to the observation platform at an altitude of 2170 meters, where you can enjoy views of the Terek Valley, once admired by Lermontov and Griboyedov. You will see the snow-capped dormant volcano, which is considered one of the highest peaks of the Caucasus. Kazbek is lower than Elbrus, but nevertheless, it is also a "five-thousander" - its height is 5047 meters above sea level.

How the Excursion Goes

• We will start from Tbilisi
• We will drive either by car or minivan, depending on the size of the group. In case of a larger group, the cost of the excursion will be higher (+40 euros per person).
• You will be accompanied by a guide and driver

What's Included and What's Not

• Additional expenses: when we arrive in Stepantsminda, you can optionally hike up to Gergeti Monastery. The cost for up to four people is 60 lari. Lunch is also an additional expense.
• Optionally, you can go paragliding: 300 lari for a 15-minute flight. As a bonus, the GoPro camera will record a video of your flight.
