What to Expect
Dadiani Princes Palace in Zugdidi
You will visit the magnificent palace of the rulers of Megrelia - the Dadiani Princes. You will stroll through the beautiful park, visit the museum, and explore the rich collection of weapons, household items, paintings, and even see the death mask of Napoleon I and an icon that belonged to Queen Tamar's mother. I will share interesting facts about the palace and the amazing history of the Dadiani Princes' relationship with Napoleon Bonaparte's family.
After the museum tour, we will have lunch at one of the best restaurants in the city of Zugdidi. The menu offers a variety of Georgian dishes, including local Megrelian cuisine. You will be able to try khinkali, elarji, kharcho, Megrelian-style khachapuri, and much more.
Inguri Dam: Dam and Reservoir
Next, we will head to the Inguri Dam. We will visit the giant technical structures, then climb to the observation deck and admire the splendor of the surrounding mountains and nature. You will learn about the history of the construction of this unique hydro-technical structure, as well as its current operation. If you wish, you can take a boat ride on the Inguri reservoir.
