From Kutaisi to Amazing Megrelia!
About this experience
You will walk through a magical mossy forest with ferns and lianas, pass along a suspension bridge over a precipice, find traces of dinosaurs, and take a boat ride through a canyon. You will also explore one of the most famous monasteries in Georgia and learn about local life, cuisine, history, and mentality!
What to expect
Martvili Monastery
You will travel to the town of Martvili and visit the ancient monastery - the burial place of the Dadiani princes. I will tell you the most interesting facts about this holy place: from which Megrelian word the monastery's name comes from, when and by whom it was founded, what was here before, and how the temple is connected to Saint Andrew.
Moss-covered forest and boat trips
The surroundings of Martvili are famous for incredible natural beauty - you will see picturesque gorges, waterfalls, dinosaur tracks, and mountain streams of the purest emerald color. Optionally, you will take a boat ride through a picturesque canyon and be even more impressed by the fairy-tale landscape. You will also walk through a magical forest with whimsical trees covered in moss, meet ferns with hanging lianas, and a 900-year-old ash tree.
Balda, Okatse Canyons and Kaghu Waterfall
A few minutes' drive from Martvili is the Balda Canyon, which will amaze you with pristine landscapes, an ancient temple, and high mountain waterfalls. Next, we will head towards the Okatse Canyon, arranged by the Dadiani princes in the 18th century as a summer residence. You will walk over the abyss on a suspension trail and feel the scale of the local nature's greatness. Finally, you will relax at the Kaghu Waterfall, admire the mountain peaks, enjoy the coolness and silence.

The tour was great. The canyon is highly recommended - both natural beauty and well-thought-out service, safety included.
