About this experience
We will leisurely explore the most colorful markets of Prague at your own pace. You will try the famous trdelnik, mulled wine, and everything that Czechs eagerly await all year long. Get acquainted with Christmas celebration traditions – and also send holiday postcards to your family and friends to lift the New Year spirit!
Please note: the tour runs from December 2 to January 6.
What to Expect
Market Prague
You will visit the most delicious and popular markets among the locals. In the intimate World Square, you will see the majestic St. Ludmila Church and the favorite market of Prague residents. Through non-touristic paths, we will walk to Wenceslas Square, where another market and a festive Christmas tree are located. At Republic Square, you can feed sheep and donkeys by hand. In the central post office section, we will send New Year's postcards to friends and family – and end the walk at the country's main Christmas tree on Old Town Square.
Czech-style Holiday
The main topic of our conversation will be Christmas and New Year in the Czech Republic. I will tell you about their essential attributes: the types of advent calendars, the Christmas tree competition, the magical characters that differ from our familiar Santa Claus and Snow Maiden. You will learn about the unusual holiday traditions of the Czechs – and what is served on the table on Christmas Eve.
If you wish, we can also talk about the city's past. I will tell you about the personalities that changed the course of history and the events that influenced the country's current appearance. I will also gladly answer your questions.
If desired, the format of the tour can be changed to auto-pedestrian. In this case, we will visit the residential areas of Prague – there are much fewer tourists here. Each of them has its own Christmas tree and ice town, and if you wish, you can skate here.
