Exploring Prague at a Leisurely Pace: Informative and Heartwarming Walk through the Historic Center
About this experience
During the charming Prague tour, we will visit the main attractions and I will tell you their history. To feel the city's spirit and atmosphere, we will turn off the main roads and walk through narrow cobblestone streets, peek into courtyards, parks, and passages, where you will discover the real Prague.
What to Expect
New Town
We will start our walk at Wenceslas Square. I will tell you who Saint Wenceslas was, why he was killed by his younger brother, and how in our time, a peculiar monument was erected for him in one of the passages. You will also understand where the name New Town came from, if its founding date is 1348, and who inspired its creation.
The Lesser Town
Descending to the Vltava river, we will visit this area. In ancient times, this district was refined and aristocratic, and it has remained so. The place has not lost its charm. I will show you the romantic Prague Venice, the Love Lock Bridge, and the narrowest street in Prague. At Charles Bridge, I will tell you its history and explain how to make a wish that will surely come true.
The Old Town
Strolling through the most intriguing and mysterious district of Prague is like being transported to a distant past. You will learn about the history of the Jesuit Clementinum, encounter the narrowest hotel in the city, and explore the Old Town Square, where not only trade but also executions once took place. You will also see the old clock on the town hall tower, called the Astronomical Clock. It is the pride of the citizens. Here, every 60 minutes, you can witness an unforgettable show.
Small Tips
During the walk, I will answer all your questions and recommend where to go in your free time, where to taste interesting beer, and where to enjoy the most delicious pork knuckle.
Organizational Details
Since Prague streets are paved with cobblestones, I highly recommend wearing comfortable shoes without high heels.
