About this experience
British cuisine is not limited to fish and chips, and I will prove it to you! Get ready for an unusual, unpredictable, and of course, delicious tour in the center of London. You will taste fresh cheeses, pastries, and various dishes at markets, relax with tea or coffee, enjoy beer and ale in historic pubs, or English wine in wine bars. And along the way, you will learn about local gastronomy through the ages.
What to Expect
What did the various layers of British society eat in the past? What are the taste preferences of today's English people? You will learn about this on the tour.
Farmer's Markets: Following the... Chefs
In London, there are 74 Michelin-starred restaurants, and five establishments have even been awarded 3*! This fact emphasizes the British love for fine dining — but both capital gourmets and famous chefs go to markets for fresh goods and a breath of inspiration.
We will stroll through one or two markets where traders from all corners of provincial England converge. Local markets resemble food courts with numerous stalls enticing with aromas: you will taste British cheeses, traditional pastries, and oysters brought in from the county of Kent. And then I suggest rejuvenating with a cup of tea or coffee (oh, I know the places!).
England Alcoholically
No wonder one of the associations with Great Britain is pubs. The English love to drink and know how to do it well :) You can choose between a tour of historic pubs, where you will taste beer, ale, and cider, or explore refined English wines. And for fans of strong drinks, I have locations for gin or whiskey tastings. In any case, you will visit establishments with original interiors and rich chronicles.
