On this tour, you will explore the most interesting and historic London pubs, learn about their rich history and remarkable patrons, delve into the varieties of English beer, and, of course, sample the most famous brews!
What to Expect
Stroll through historic London pubs
We will visit several London pubs, each with its own history, traditions, and signature beers. We'll step into pubs frequented by Charles Dickens, Bernard Shaw, and other iconic figures, including even Jack the Ripper! You will discover why in the 14th century all English pubs adorned with bright signs and emblems, explore the most interesting and ancient establishments of the British capital, admire cozy interiors with sturdy wooden furniture. The pub's decorations often reflect the establishment's history or its unique patrons, of which the owners are proud.
Traditional English beer
Almost every authentic London pub offers black (stout), dark (bitter), light (lager), and dark sweet (ale) beers, while some pubs boast dozens of beer varieties, some of which you may taste during the tour. Additionally, you will learn about the traditional etiquette prevailing in any English pub, as a pub is also the only place in England where you can strike up a conversation with a stranger, which we will seek to take advantage of to chat with ordinary English locals.
