Art Mediation: Dialogue Excursion in Museums of Tbilisi

What to Expect

Between museums, you will move independently with the help of our electronic guide. At the entrance, you will always be greeted by a museum mediator guide. The route is as follows:

• Tbilisi Archaeological Museum. You will learn about the history of Tbilisi’s development over many centuries.

• Museum of Folk Music and Musical Instruments of Georgia. An immersive excursion awaits you here. Along with the mediator, you will listen to Georgian and Eastern songs on gramophone records from the early 20th century.

• Contact Museum of Weapons and Traditional Costumes. As if in a time machine, you will be transported to the Middle Ages: a mediator in noble attire will tell interesting historical facts and show authentic artifacts. Then you will have the opportunity to take photos in traditional Georgian costumes.

• Wine Museum. In Georgia, more than 500 grape varieties are cultivated out of the 4 thousand known worldwide. You will walk through cellars connected by labyrinthine tunnels, see clay qvevri and horn-shaped vessels, discuss wine varieties with the mediator, and taste your favorite samples.

• You will enter all museums without queuing
• The excursion lasts 3 hours. You will spend 30-40 minutes in each museum.
• We will also give you a guide to the museums of Georgia with a detailed description of each location and a guide to cafes/bars/restaurants in Tbilisi
