Accompanied by a professional historian guide and driver, you will explore one of Egypt's most distinctive cities in a day. We can spend the whole day in ancient catacombs or cover as many attractions as possible - it all depends on your interests and tastes! What can be included in the excursion program:
- Fort Qaitbey, erected on the remains of the Alexandria Lighthouse.
- Kom El Shoqafa Catacombs - the city's visiting card. You will walk through the tunnels of the ancient necropolis, examining the preserved tombs, columns, and sarcophagi.
- Abu al-Abbas al-Mursi Mosque - the most beautiful mosque in Alexandria. You will learn who it is built in honor of and what is the feature of its architecture.
- Roman Amphitheater - the only ancient Roman trace found in Alexandria.
- Alexandrina Library - a modern cultural project reminiscent of the lost Library of Alexandria.
- Pompey's Pillar - a monolith of red granite often compared to a ship's mast.
- Montaza Royal Palace: we will walk through the paths of its picturesque park, peek into elegant rooms, and discuss the history of construction.
- Alexandria National Museum, where you will get acquainted with artifacts from Ancient and modern Egypt - from the era of the Pharaohs to the Christian and Muslim epochs.
On average, in a day, we can visit 4-5 locations from the list: you can manage more or less depending on how much time you spend at each attraction.
Organizational Details
How the Tour Goes
- You will be picked up from any hotel in Alexandria, airport, or seaport and dropped back after the tour
- The tour will be conducted by a professional Russian-speaking guide from our team
- For 1-2 people, the tour is carried out in a comfortable sedan car (included in the price)
- It is possible to conduct the tour for a larger group on a minibus equipped with air conditioning and all the necessary amenities (surcharge of 16€)
- For safety reasons, the driver handles the transportation so the guide is not distracted on the road
Additional Expenses
- Meals and entrance tickets (visits are optional): Qaitbey Fort - $4, Kom El Shoqafa Catacombs - $5, Amphitheater - $5, Pompey's Pillar - $5, Alexandria Museum - $6.
- If tourists need to be met around the airport area and/or taken there after the tour, an additional charge of +30 euros.
