What to Expect
All the colors of Alexandria
This is the most convenient way to get to know the city: you will have transportation with a driver, a Russian-speaking guide at your disposal for the entire day, and the ability to adjust the route. The classic itinerary includes the following attractions:
- Fort Qaitbey - an ancient fortress built from the remains of the famous Alexandria Lighthouse.
- Kom el Shoqafa Catacombs - an ancient necropolis where you will see ancient tombs, columns, and sarcophagi.
- Abu al-Abbas al-Mursi Mosque - the most beautiful and famous mosque in Alexandria. We will tell you who it is dedicated to and what techniques were used in its construction.
- Roman Amphitheater - you will appreciate the first and only monument of Roman architecture found in the city.
- Bibliotheca Alexandrina - a modern cultural center built in memory of the lost Library of Alexandria.
- Pompey's Pillar - you will examine the largest Roman monolith outside of Rome and Constantinople.
- Montaza Palace - a luxurious royal palace. You will stroll through its picturesque park and elegant rooms.
- Alexandria National Museum - we will show artifacts from the Pharaonic, Hellenistic, and Roman periods, as well as the Christian and Muslim eras.
Organizational Details
How the Excursion Works
- You will be picked up from any hotel in Cairo/Giza or the airport and returned at no extra cost
- The excursion will be led by a professional Russian-speaking guide from our team
Transportation
- For groups of up to 3 people, the excursion is conducted in a sedan (included in the price)
- It is possible to organize the excursion for a larger number of people - in a minibus equipped with air conditioning and all necessary amenities (additional cost +50€)
- Due to the busy traffic in Cairo and Alexandria, the driver is in charge of driving for safety reasons, allowing the guide to focus on providing information and making the excursion more informative.
- We will obtain all necessary permits in advance for your travel between cities.
Food and entrance tickets are paid additionally (visits are optional): Qaitbey - $4, Kom el Shoqafa Catacombs - $5, Roman Amphitheater - $5, Pompey's Pillar - $5, Alexandria Museum - $6.
