In one day, you will see the mysterious silent catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa, the only Roman amphitheater in Egypt, the majestic fortress of Qaitbay, and the jewelry museum with exquisite rare collections.
What to expect
Kom El Shoqafa Catacombs
Considered one of the largest Roman burial sites and a significant archaeological site in Alexandria. The tombs were carved in the rock during the reign of Emperor Antoninus Pius in the 2nd century AD. The guide will share details about the history of this monument.
Alexandria Amphitheater
The only Roman amphitheater found in Egypt was built in the 2nd century AD and restored in the 4th century AD. It consists of 12 semi-circular marble rows. The guide will tell you who and when discovered this massive ancient structure.
Qaitbay Fortress
You will see the monumental fort founded in the 15th century on the ruins of the ancient lighthouse - one of the Seven Wonders of the World. It is believed that the remnants of the lighthouse were used in the construction of the fortress.
Alexandrian Jewelry Museum
An architectural gem in itself, the museum is built in European style - the eastern and western wings are connected by two corridors. Around the building, there is a garden with decorative trees and other plants. The museum houses over 11,000 exhibits - antiques, jewelry, watches, diamond-encrusted items, and other rare collections.
