You will explore ancient catacombs, ascend a medieval fortress, admire a mosque in Andalusian style, and appreciate the modern Library building. I will passionately and soulfully reveal the city's past and present!
What to Expect
Kom El Shoqafa Catacombs - you will stroll through tunnels of the ancient necropolis, examining tombs, columns, and sarcophagi. Descend underground into the 'City of the Dead' and walk around the burial shaft. Moreover, on surviving wall fragments, discover architectural elements from different cultures: Egyptian, Greek, and Roman.
Pompey's Pillar - a giant granite column erected in honor of Roman Emperor Diocletian. The inscription describes him as a protective deity. Find out why on the tour! Additionally, you will see secret underground passages leading to the ruined Serapeum Temple and take beautiful photos next to two sphinxes.
Qaitbay Citadel - a medieval fortress built on the ruins of the Alexandria Lighthouse. From its observation deck, you will have a panoramic view of the entire city.
Abu al-Abbas al-Mursi Mosque - a functioning mosque in Andalusian style will impress you with the beauty of its domes and minarets. Learn who it was built in honor of and the architectural peculiarities.
Alexandria Library - a modern futuristic building reminiscent of the lost ancient library. I will help you decipher its symbolism.

- Distance from Cairo to Alexandria - about 200 km. One-way travel time - approximately 3 hours. One technical stop on the way. An experienced driver will be behind the wheel so that the guide is not distracted while driving.
