What to Expect
Getting to Know Rhodes
You will see all the island's 'postcards'. The excursion program includes:
- Lindos Town - you will learn why this city-state was built many centuries ago and appreciate the country's most important Acropolis. You will also admire Apostle Paul's bay located at its foot.
- Prasonisi Cape - a picturesque place where the Mediterranean and Aegean Seas meet.
- Ancient Churches - you will see and optionally visit the most significant religious buildings of the island. Among them: churches of Saint Panteleimon, Virgin Tsambika, Saint Nectarios and Saint Nicholas of Fountoukli.
- Embona Village - an ancient winemaking village. I will tell you why grapes have been traditionally grown here and what are the characteristics of local wine.
- Monolithos Fortress - a medieval fortress in the central part of the island, once protecting Rhodes from foreign invasions and pirates. We will see what remains of it today and enjoy the panorama of the neighboring islands.
- Mussolini's Villa - a picturesque two-story mansion surrounded by rocks, firs, and pines. You will learn its history and enjoy the magical surrounding landscapes.
