What to expect
Churches of Rhodes
Local residents believe that Rhodes is a blessed island: on our route, we will visit several churches, and in one of the temples, we will bow to the icon of the Virgin Mary of Tsambika. I will tell you about this patroness of the island and the history of Orthodoxy in Rhodes.
Ancient Lindos and Acropolis
Next, we will visit Lindos and its main attraction - the Acropolis, perched on a rock. From the top, you will have a view of the bay of Apostle Paul. There will be other viewing platforms in our program, one of which is by the ruins of Monolithos Castle, which has never been captured. You will also see one of the wonders of the island: the merging of the two seas - the Mediterranean and the Aegean - and swim in them.
Gastro-break
For lunch, we will stop in the village of Embona at the foot of the highest mountain Ataviros - in a tavern, you will be offered traditional Greek dishes. You will also be able to taste local cheeses and olives, wine, oil, and much more.
Abandoned villa and rejuvenating springs
Afterward, we will head to Mussolini's estate, located in a picturesque place: we will talk about its history and inhabitants. We will see a thousand-year-old plane tree where you can make a wish.
