About this experience
I'll be happy to be your guide to the must-see places of Warsaw and its past. On Krakowskie Przedmiescie, you will understand why this street can be called the 'history of all Poland', and in the renaissance Old Town, you will hear legends and find yourself in the Middle Ages. A separate topic will be the worldview of Poles and the lifestyle of Varsovians. This informative first meeting with Warsaw will allow you not just to learn, but to feel the city and the country from the inside.
What to Expect
Main Attractions Yesterday and Today
In 3.5 hours, you will discover the main points about Warsaw's complicated fate with its iconic places as the backdrop for stories. We will start with the street-history Krakowskie Przedmiescie, where we will talk about its name and visit churches. We will follow in Chopin's footsteps: you will learn about the composer's first concert and about the burial of his heart. We will also remember Copernicus and the President of Poland - you will see where he lives and works. In the Old Town, immersing in medieval charm, you will 'meet' the Warsaw dragon and other legends, as well as walk along the fortress walls and look at the New Town, which is over 600 years old.
Orient yourself in the city and admire the panoramas
I will tell you how to spend time in Warsaw, where to have a delicious dinner, and which museums to visit. And to visualize the map of the city, you will visit two observation platforms: climb the tower of St. Anne's Church and the roof of the city library. Optionally, we will continue walking along the Vistula boulevard, offering a beautiful panorama of the historical center.
Polish Culture and Poles
One of the topics will be the traditions of my country and the distinctive characteristics of the Varsovians' character. You will understand how the main events in the country's and capital's past influenced the worldview of Poles and urban residents. We will also talk about modern life - about customs, habits, and quirks.
