About this experience
Just an hour by train from Turin - and you are in the town of Bra, the birthplace of the Slow Food movement. I will tell you about the principles that underpin it. Together we will visit a local cheese factory, where you will taste the best cheeses of Piedmont: selection, aged, Alpine, with truffles and more. Learn how to properly taste cheeses and feel their aroma.
What to expect
The extraordinary world of Piedmont cheeses
You will visit a cheese factory in the small cozy town of Bra: explore the cheese cellar and storage room. And also taste more than eight types of cheese. I will tell you:
- How to read a cheese label correctly, evaluate the cheese visually and olfactorily
- Why cheeses made from goat's milk are always white
- What is the Slow Food movement
- Why sheep's cheese has citrus notes in its aroma
- Why Alpine cheeses are so good
- Why cheeses from raw milk are much healthier than from pasteurized
A bonus will be a short walk through the historic center of Bra. We will stroll through the cozy ancient streets of the city and admire the churches in the Piedmontese Baroque style.
