Visit the village of Lermontovo and learn about the Christian Molokans.
What to Expect
Vanadzor through the centuries
You will see the main sights of Vanadzor and its surroundings. The tour program includes:
- Lori-Pambak History Museum. Immerse yourself in the history of the Lori region, see ancient weapons, works of art, and manuscripts.
- Art Gallery. Here you will get acquainted with the works of famous Armenian masters: their paintings, graphics, and sculptures.
- Master Mehrob's House. We will only be able to view it from the outside. But that won't stop us from delving into the history of the life of the amazing Armenian architect-innovator.
- Taierov Mansion. You will hear the story of the house's creation and learn about Professor Vasiliy Taierov.
- Lermontovo Village. During the time of Nicholas I, Molokans were exiled here. I will tell you who they are and whether their descendants still live in the village.
- Mountain Climb. We will enjoy the beautiful Vanadzor from a height.
I have listed the main, but not all places to visit. In addition, you will see 9 ancient churches, chapels, and churches. You will stroll through the forest ruins of the Artek pioneer camp, appreciate the modern glamping park and the gates of the Russian Tsar's barracks. Visit the mineral water source and stop by a cozy cafe serving fragrant Armenian tea with local herbs.
