About this experience
On a comfortable car, we will explore ancient Armenia. You will visit the Geghard Monastery, the Mariamashen Church, see the Arch of Charents, and learn about the 'Symphony of Stones'. Enjoy fantastic water and mountain landscapes and escape the city hustle. And we will tell interesting stories about all the places on the route.
What to Expect
๐ Geghard Monastery - You will see the cells, khachkars (stone crosses), and frescoes from the 7th-13th centuries. Side stairs lead to the Proshyan family tomb where you will appreciate the incredible acoustics and learn about vermilion dye-makers.
๐ Garni Temple - Dedicated to the ancient Armenian god of the Sun, Mithra. You will examine the 3rd-century mosaic and touch upon pagan history. The temple is located on a cape, surrounded by the Azat River, creating a stunning view.
๐ 'Symphony of Stones' and Azat Reservoir - Great spots for a photo session. The 'Symphony' features unique basalt columns resembling an organ. The reservoir with its amazing landscapes is dubbed the Armenian Mars - in summer the surroundings resemble the Red Planet.
๐ Arch of Charents - An architectural structure dedicated to the victims of repressions, including Armenian poet Egishe Charents. The arch displays quotes from his poems and offers a marvelous view of Mount Ararat.
