About this experience
To understand Berlin, its history, and its mood, it is worth taking a stroll through the forgotten historical center and learning how the city evolved from a fishing village to the royal capital of Prussia.
Program
Let's start getting to know Berlin on the historic Brandenburg Embankment, where the life of merchants and craftsmen once boiled and bubbled. Strolling through the medieval alleys, you will learn what Berlin and Paris have in common, as well as uncover the modern legends hidden in the historic St. Nicholas Quarter.
At the same time, we will see where you can see examples of the Pergamon Museum's works without actually entering the museum, and where the oldest restaurant in Berlin is located, a place where Napoleon and Clara Zetkin loved to dine at different times.
Then, we will immerse ourselves in Berlin's transformations during the Hohenzollern era - the ruling dynasty of Prussia. I will tell you about classical Berlin architecture, the history of the Royal Palace, the Berlin Cathedral, and Museum Island. You will see where the Prussian kings kept their most valuable possessions and learn about the cultural impact of the Kingdom of Prussia on German culture.
The program also includes little-known facts about the life of Frederick the Great, the fascinating story of the construction of Berlin's most beautiful square - Gendarmenmarkt, the political fate of Wilhelmstrasse, and the military secrets of the Brandenburg Gate.
