From Reichstag to Museum Island
Our introduction to the city begins in the Government Quarter where you'll first see the Reichstag - the most visited parliament on the planet! I'll share the story of how, when, and who stormed this building near its historical site.
While examining the Brandenburg Gate, you'll try to spot the missing detail and then hear a curious fact about these gates and Napoleon Bonaparte.
By the Memorial to the Victims of the Holocaust, I will present fragments of the history of World War II and tell you about the person who designed this monument.
In the new Berlin at Potsdamer Platz, where glass skyscrapers tower above, we'll visit the 'Topography of Terror' museum and see remnants of the ominous Berlin Wall.
You'll see a composition of three beautiful buildings - the Concert Hall, as well as the French and German Cathedrals - at the legendary Gendarmenmarkt Square.
The Saint Nicholas Quarter, or Nikolaiviertel, will impress you with its old architecture. These restored buildings form the historical center of the city and perfectly reflect the face of medieval Berlin.
Finally, we'll approach the Berlin Cathedral for you to appreciate the scale and grandeur of the structure.
