What to Expect
Golden Coast
Near Cascais stretches the favorite beach of surfers Gincho and hosts the Estoril casino, where the sixth part of the Bond series was filmed. You can stroll along the sandy dunes by the endless ocean at Apple Beach Praia das Maçãs, visit the seaside village of Azenhas do Mar, and peek into "Devil's Mouth" - a cave in a rocky massif that produces a thunderous roar that amazes and sometimes shocks tourists.
Where the Land Ends and the Sea Begins
Next, we will head to the westernmost point of Europe - Cape Roca. This is a place of power for the Portuguese and the main attraction of Sintra. You will enjoy the panorama of the Atlantic and savor the healing sea air with the aroma of a eucalyptus forest. You will see a picturesque lighthouse, hear legends about the she-bear and her cubs, the village boy and witches, learn stories from the times of the Great Discoveries and walk over the abyss!
Rainbow Palace on Top of the Mountain
The mountain serpentine will lead us to the fabulous Pena Palace, built in the Neo-Moorish style. Admiring the view from the terrace, where the last queen of Portugal observed the turmoil in Lisbon, or the rich interiors of the palace rooms, you will feel like you have traveled back in time.
Sacred Park-Estate
A romantic palace in Neo-Gothic style, a chapel, and a park with lakes, grottoes, fountains, and architectural whims - all this is Quinta da Regaleira. The interior decoration of the house will amaze you with an abundance of sculptures, stucco work, and secret symbols, a mix of styles from different eras: Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance, and Manueline. You will discover the Inverted Tower - a magical well of masonic initiation - and descend to the secret waterfall that fulfills wishes.
