What to Expect

Moorish Castle and Pena Palace in Sintra
Picturesque hills covered with dense forest, royal palaces, and extravagant villas with magnificent gardens: you will see that Sintra is a special corner of Portugal. Here we will visit the famous Quinta da Regaleira estate with its graceful palace and luxurious park shrouded in mysteries. We will stroll through the multi-level park and discuss philosophy, mythology, literature, and esoterism. You will also visit the unique Pena Palace, which is listed as one of the 7 wonders of Portuguese architecture. The castle will transport you to the past: it seems like yesterday the queen was enjoying tea in one of the rooms, the king was working in his office above the paintings, and guests were gathering in the dining hall. The palace is surrounded by a park with a collection of exotic plants, making it a pleasant and interesting stroll.

Drive along the Atlantic Coast
On the way, you will speed along the Atlantic coast along the beaches of the Riviera - do not forget to admire the picturesque spot where you would want to spend one of your vacation days. We will make several impressive stops to take photos and be inspired by the contrasts of the ocean. You will enjoy the panorama of the resort town of Cascais, hear ancient legends at the arched rock of Boca do Inferno, and at the surfer's Guincho Beach feel the full power and strength of the Atlantic.

At the edge of the world at sunset
A journey along the Portuguese Atlantic coast would be incomplete without Cabo da Roca - the westernmost point of the continent. Being here, you will gaze at the ocean from the sheer cliffs and feel the atmosphere of the edge of the world. All of this at sunset. And also, a little gastronomic surprise awaits you here.

• The start time of our excursion and the order of visiting places may vary - please check details in the correspondence with the guide
• In the Pena Palace, we visit the park, terraces, all viewing platforms, and inner courtyards. The tour inside the palace is optional and requires an additional ticket - 20 euros/person.
• Entry to the palace is only possible by pre-booking. Every half an hour, 300 people enter at the reserved time. We have opted out of visiting the palace rooms on group trips as it creates discomfort. But if you would like to visit the rooms and see the interiors - please let me know.
• At the moment, due to reasons beyond our control, we go to Cabo da Roca during the day. If it is important for you to visit Cabo da Roca at sunset, please let me know.
• Our guides will help you purchase tickets in Sintra without queuing
• Cabo da Roca is often windy - bring a windbreaker with you
• The excursion is intensive. We will not have time for a full lunch, as it lasts 1.5-2 hours in Portugal. But we can have a snack in Sintra.
• If you have a child with you and need a child seat, please let me know in advance
• I will conduct the tour for you or another guide from our team

What is Included and What is Not

• Price includes: transfer on a comfortable minibus; guided tours throughout the route (visiting palaces with a guide); gastronomic surprise at Cabo da Roca
• Not included in the price are palace tickets (paid optionally): entrance ticket to Quinta da Regaleira estate - 12 euros, entrance ticket to Pena Palace - 10 euros (discounts for children and people over 65 years old)
• In the Pena Palace, we visit the park, terraces, all viewing platforms, and inner courtyards. To visit the rooms (optional), an additional ticket must be purchased - 20 euros.
