About this experience
The amazing city on the Moon Hill irresistibly attracts travelers. In Sintra and its surroundings, you will see luxurious palaces of Portuguese monarchs and millionaires' villas, magnificent gardens and sandy beaches, hilly mazes of narrow streets, and even a place where the land merges into the boundless ocean. The tour includes the most iconic corners of this amazing region of Portugal, and after our journey you will understand why it captivated kings.
What to Expect
Historical Center of Sintra
Our tour will begin with a walk through the very heart of the summer residence of Portuguese kings. Here, in the company of a guide, you will wander through the narrow streets of the city, find the house where Andersen lived, and taste the local cherry liqueur.
Quinta da Regaleira
You will visit the famous mansion of a Portuguese aristocrat, a follower of Masonic ideas: its whimsical sculptures and towers, mystical symbolism and secret staircases, as well as labyrinths, grottoes, and the underground palace garden, will turn your visit into a quest.
Pena Palace
This palace, rightfully considered the most romantic in Portugal, served as a royal residence from the late 19th century. It is surrounded by a magnificent garden, through which you will stroll before entering the palace itself.
Cabo da Roca
You will reach the westernmost point of Europe and visit the place where, as the Portuguese poet Luís de Camões once said, 'the land ends and the sea begins'.
Guincho
Guincho is an incredibly beautiful surf beach, where you will take photos against picturesque landscapes and walk along the water's edge, breathing in the salty ocean air. This beach was featured in scenes of the Bond movie 'On Her Majesty's Secret Service'.
Boca do Inferno
We will briefly stop at the 'Mouth of Hell', a cave famous as a suicide spot. This natural phenomenon is located very close to Cascais, where we will head right after.
Cascais
Cascais is a wonderful city near Lisbon, popular among two categories of people: millionaires who buy villas here, and tourists who come to take a walk and ride yachts. Perhaps among the local yachtsmen, you will meet some celebrity :)
