Did you know that Turkestan is one of the oldest cities in Central Asia and the spiritual capital of the Turkic world? We will show you its highlights: the famous mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yassawi, Ethnoaul, and the modern complex Keruen Sarai. You will also visit historical sites in the vicinity of Turkestan: the ruins of Otrar and the mausoleum of Arystan Bab.
What to Expect
09:00 Departure from the hotel
10:00 Otrar Archaeological Site. Explore the ruins of one of the oldest cities in Central Asia, destroyed during the Mongol invasion.
11:00 Mausoleum of Arystan Bab. Visit the burial place of the famous religious mystic and preacher.
12:00 Mausoleum of Gaukhar Ana, built in honor of the daughter of Khoja Ahmed Yassawi.
12:30 Lunch
13:30 Azret Sultan Museum-Reserve. Walk along the fortress wall, visit the underground mosque Khilvet, explore the medieval bathhouse, and admire the magnificent mausoleum of the founder of the Sufi order Khoja Ahmed Yassawi.
16:00 Ethnoaul. Immerse yourself in traditional Kazakh customs and traditions. Stroll through the craftsmen street, see yurts, an ancient well, and the national swings 'altybakan'.
17:00 Modern complex Keruen Sarai. Explore the picturesque canals, fountains, trading halls with Eastern architecture, and colorful cafes.
Organizational Details
- Your tour will be led by a local resident, experienced guide-driver. They will safely take you to the locations, provide basic information about the places you visit, help you take photos and videos.
- If you need a professional tour guide ready to share rare historical facts about Turkestan and its surroundings, the additional cost will be 6000 rubles.
- Entrance tickets to the Azret Sultan Museum-Reserve, Otrar Archaeological Site, and the mausoleum of Arystan Bab are included in the price. Lunch is at an additional cost.
- The program is suitable for adults and children aged 3 and older. Unaccompanied minors are not allowed.
- After making the advance payment on the website, you will need to pay the remaining cost of the tour by bank transfer to a Russian card at least 48 hours before the start (you will receive the details after booking).
