About this experience
I will tell you how Akmola became Astana, then Nur-Sultan, and back to Astana. How the future capital was planned and developed, and why people from all over the world now gather here. You will get acquainted with the main attractions and uncover secrets of the local mentality!
What to expect
Nurzhol Boulevard - history and legends
We will start the walk at the newest symbol of the capital - Khan Shatyr, which is among the top ten eco-designs in the world. I will show you the Lover's Park, the Round Square, and the picturesque Nurzhol Boulevard with fountains, Turkic sculptures, and architectural creations by famous architects. You will see the business, government, and cultural centers of the republic located here: the Ministries' House, the State Archive, the Supreme Court, and the Korme Exhibition Center. You will also learn why 8 out of the 15 tallest buildings in Kazakhstan are located on this boulevard.
Baiterek and city view from above
You will explore the city's 'calling card' - the Baiterek monument. You will ascend to its observation platform, be impressed by the beautiful panorama of the capital, and make a wish at the top of the 'Tree of Life'. Next, I will show you the president's residence in a wonderful white building under a blue dome on the bank of the Ishim River.
