About this experience
Traveling on the new highway, crossing sand dunes and admiring the landscapes, we will head to the ancient city of Zharkent. You will hear the history of this city and see its main attractions: the wooden Zharkent mosque, the temple in the name of the Prophet of God Elijah, the sacred 700-year-old Aulie Agash tree. You will also visit picturesque mountains and meet camel foals at the farm.
What to expect
- First, we will visit a camel farm, where you will meet cute camel foals and try shubat - camel milk.
- Next stop - Tiger Mountains. You will see a cosmic landscape with bare striped mountains, where you will take a walk.
- The next point of the route is the sacred Aulie Agash tree in the Karagach grove. This giant is over 700 years old! In the embrace of its trunk reaches six and a half meters.
- Next, you will have lunch in a traditional Uyghur cafe, where you will try the local dish lagman.
- We will end our journey with a visit to the temple of the Prophet of God Elijah and the wooden mosque in Chinese style, built in the 19th century without a single nail.
The guide will share stories and legends about each visited location, as well as interesting facts about the city of Zharkent.
