In southern Cappadocia, you will embark on a true exploratory journey in search of secrets from ancient times! Find yourself in an underground city, where you will learn about ancient life, stroll through otherworldly valleys, and explore rock caves - one of which houses the Byzantine monastery of Selime. And at the end of the journey, you will relax in a restaurant in the picturesque Ihlara Valley.
What to Expect
Immersion into antiquity
Cappadocia has been known since antiquity, so there is plenty to see and learn about here! You will visit the underground city of Derinkuyu, where at depth you will see how people lived here two millennia ago, learn about ancient life and the memory of the first settlers. In addition, you will visit the Byzantine monastery of Selime, where frescoes and columns from the 8th-11th centuries are partially preserved, as well as an onyx jewelry workshop.
Natural beauties
As you stroll through Pigeon Valley, you will learn about its name and enjoy the panoramas. Then, you will head to the crater lake Nar and to Ihlara Valley, home to the deepest and longest canyon in Cappadocia. We will walk along the river and explore caves in the rocks. At the end of the valley, there is a restaurant where we can have a snack.
