About this experience
In Cappadocia, it feels like you have stepped into a separate magical land unlike the rest of Turkey. I will reveal the secret corners of the region - those where tourists don't usually go. You will see chimney rocks, visit ancient (but well-preserved!) monasteries, and marvel at the underground city that has everything - from ventilation to wineries and churches.
What to Expect
Güllüdere Monastery. This is one of the most beautiful and well-preserved examples of Byzantine art in Anatolia. The frescoes on the walls, the burial chamber, defensive structures, settlements carved into the rock - all speak of the fact that long ago this monastery was an important religious center.
Kaya Monastery. Dating back to the 8th century AD. Inside, ancient frescoes are also well preserved. I will tell you what they illustrate.
Chardak Underground City. Founded by Christians escaping persecution by Roman soldiers. They carved out four floors in the rock with ventilation shafts, storerooms full of supplies, wineries, churches, monasteries, wells, toilets, and conference halls.
Gülşehir Open-Air Museum. These fairy-tale chimney rocks in the form of mushrooms are unparalleled! We will stroll through the valley and examine them in detail. And we will also talk about the history: there is a version that during archaeological excavations in this place, a large number of Roman artifacts were found.
