What to expect
Hiking to the highest lighthouse in Catalonia
We will start the walk with amazing natural landscapes that Torredembarra is rich in. You will walk along a section of the famous Costa Daurada hiking trail and climb to the 38-meter lighthouse, standing on a cliff. Its beam's sparkle can be seen from the sea already at a distance of 29 miles and perhaps this is the most romantic place in the city. You will see a bright blue sky, the sea shimmering with shades of turquoise and sapphire. Ahead you will spot a regatta of sailboats, on the left a marina and port, and a little further a luxurious wide beach with golden sand.
The great heritage of a small town
After enjoying the landscapes, you will take a walk through the quiet ancient streets. Near the ruins of the city walls, you will hear about the path Torredembarra has taken over a thousand years. I will tell you about the construction of one of the first buildings - the ancient Tower of Vila from the 12th century. You will also see a valuable Gothic cathedral and the house of a Catalan 'Indian', where we will talk about the formation of the local aristocracy. At the only well-preserved example of Renaissance architecture in Catalonia, you will learn about the relationship the landowner Luis Icart had with the administration building. And why the Baroque temple of Saint Apostle Peter took over half a century to build.
