About this experience
You will see all the main attractions of Tarragona: the Old Town, the Cathedral, Portal de Sant Antoni, Corsini Square and Royal Square, the church of barefoot Carmelites, and much more. I will reveal the secrets of the Roman, Medieval, and modern city. I will show you the 'wishing grille' and tell you how Tarragona defended itself against Napoleon's troops. And I will lead you through the cozy streets to the 'Balcony of the Mediterranean', which will impress you with a stunning panorama of the ancient Roman amphitheater and the deep blue sea!
What to expect
Rambla Nova Boulevard and Roman Promenade
You will stroll along the main street of modern Tarragona and see the monument 'Castellers' and the fountain 'Santuario'. I will tell you the meanings of their names and the local traditions associated with these remarkable structures. Soon you will make a 'jump' in time and find yourself in the Middle Ages, where I will show you the monastery of the Teresian nuns and the church of the barefoot Carmelite monks. A little further and you will be on the magnificent promenade of the Roman Empire, along which stretches a wall over 2 thousand years old.
Walk through the historic center
Through the ancient arch in the ancient Roman wall, you will enter the Old Town and leisurely stroll through the alleys paved with small stones with original patterns. Along the way, you will see the magnificent Palace Square, the Cathedral, and even the House with Ghosts, where a girl sometimes plays the piano. I will tell you the ancient legend of Saint Paul, the history of Moses sculpture, and the legend of Saint Fecla.
Tarragona from a bird's eye view
You will definitely see the 'business card' of the city - the 'Balcony of the Mediterranean', which offers a breathtaking view of the amphitheater and the Balearic Sea. You will learn why Queen Victoria posed for a photograph at the monument to the heroes of Tarragona, and you will see the famous street with pilons. And you will also hear fascinating stories about the antiquity and modernity of Tarragona and find a place to make a wish.
