About this experience
Jerusalem, the cradle of world civilization, has existed for about 7,000 years, and the City of David is its oldest part. You will visit the places where the history of the Promised Land began and touch its origins literally: you will walk underground where the Gihon - the Jerusalem spring, flowed and was the pledge of the city's existence. Where there is water, there is life! Immersing yourself in the events of the Sacred Scriptures, you will be transported back thousands of years and gain a rare spiritual experience.
What to Expect
New King - New Capital
Recalling the verses of the Sacred Scriptures, we will talk about how David captured Jerusalem, which belonged to the Jebusites, and made it the capital of the Jewish kingdom. I will show you the 'mansions' of that time and the ruins of the presumed royal palace - from the height of its mighty walls, David once saw Solomon's future mother, Bathsheba. You will also see the royal archives, and then descend into the incredible underground tunnels. There are two in the City of David, and both were fed by the waters of Gihon: in cool weather, I will guide you through the dry Jebusite tunnel, built back in the 1800s BCE, and in the heat, we will choose the second, 'wet' one, where you will have to wade knee-deep in water, lighting your way with a flashlight - this will be a vivid spiritual experience.
Biblical Stories
The discovery of the City of David by archaeologists is a story worthy of a blockbuster action movie. I will definitely tell you how it happened and lead you to the Pool of Siloam, where Jesus healed the blind man. We will compare the wisdom of Kings David and Solomon and discuss why Solomon chose to build his temple in Jerusalem. And we will leave the city through an old drainage tunnel that ran directly under the street leading to the temple.
