About this experience
I invite you to a leisurely and picturesque journey filled with ease, contemplation of beauty, friendly stories, and off-the-beaten-path locations. You will enjoy the mighty ocean, pristine chapels, and ancient bridges, taste local delicacies, and unravel Portuguese secrets!
What to Expect
Best views and secret panoramas
Meeting at your hotel, we will head straight to the ocean – to the Felgueiras Lighthouse at the mouth of the Douro River. We will then stop at the Chapel of Boa Nova in the cozy town of Leça de Palmeira, where you will be served a glass of sparkling wine right on the cliff. Optionally, we will have lunch at a local restaurant overlooking the ocean. We will also visit the municipality of Vila Nova de Gaia, separated from Porto by the famous Dom Luis I Railway Bridge. You will enjoy magnificent city views and, if desired, taste and purchase the finest port wine in the country! An excursion to the cellar is also possible, but it needs to be booked in advance.
Ribeira and local lifehacks
Our journey will end in the “heart of Old Porto” – the ancient and very picturesque Ribeira district located right on the riverbank. I will guide you on how to get to the main attractions from there and share insider information from a local about restaurants, bars, nightclubs, port wine production, and hidden corners of the city.
