About this experience
In just seven and a half minutes on the high-speed Maglev train, you will reach the city from the airport. We will meet at the station and embark on a short but insightful journey. The Financial Center, The Bund, Old Town, Traditional Garden - we will explore the main attractions, discuss the key milestones of Shanghai, its historical role in China, and the cultural peculiarities of the metropolis.

We will talk about Shanghai's role in the Celestial Empire and modern China. I will tell you about the local clans that founded and supported the city behind the fortress wall, about the rise and fall of Shanghai's oligarchs. We will look at the legacy of colonial Shanghai, visit special 'secret' spots on the waterfront, and stroll through the Old Town.
Why does the financial center of a modern metropolis bear the surname Lu? Who founded colonies here? Why is the Russian Consulate the only one on the historic waterfront? We will discuss these and more during our meeting.
Organizational Details
- You will need to make your own way from the airport to the meeting point. The round-trip ticket will cost 85¥ and includes unlimited metro rides for a day.
