About this experience
Shanghai is one of the most interesting and modern Chinese megacities. You will hear its history and see how Eastern and Western cultures harmoniously blend in it. Stroll along the picturesque waterfront and be impressed by the city's panorama from the glass observation deck of the TV Tower!
What to Expect
Diverse Shanghai
In the excursion program, all the classic city attractions are included:
- ‘Pearl of the Orient’ Tower – you will visit the museum of the city's history located inside and admire scaled-down replicas of old streets and houses. And from the glass observation deck at a height of 259 meters, you will enjoy a picturesque view of the city and the waterfront.
- Old Chinese Quarter – exploring its winding alleys, you will see centuries-old houses, tea pavilions, and street stalls with national snacks. And if you're lucky, you'll meet locals in traditional costumes.
- Yu Garden – a beautiful example of a Chinese garden. In this quiet and cozy place, you will breathe fresh air and see artificial mountains and ponds, rocks of whimsical shapes, and ancient pavilions.
- Jade Buddha Temple – one of the most famous active Buddhist temples in Shanghai. I will show you its main treasure: two Buddha statues carved from solid blocks of white jade.
- Nanjing Road – the main shopping street of mainland China. I will reveal its history and advise you on what you can buy there.
- The Bund – strolling along it, you will admire the magnificence of Old and New Shanghai. On one side, you will see a European building from the 1930s, combining ancient Greek, Baroque, and Renaissance styles. On the other side, a modern metropolis with skyscrapers.
